M22-L-Y

1. Overview

The M22-L-Y (catalog 216774) is a yellow flush-mount indicator light lens from Eaton's RMQ-Titan M22 modular series — an indicator light, not a pushbutton. "L" = Indicating Light, "Y" = Yellow. Originated under Moeller brand (Eaton acquired Moeller 2008, merged brand 2011), hence "Eaton Moeller" and "Cutler-Hammer" naming in distributor listings. The lens alone ships without LED element or mounting adapter; both are required for a functional assembly.

2. User Sentiment

No forum or user review content found — treated as commodity industrial hardware. Modular construction (lens + adapter + LED sold separately) is consistently cited as a benefit for flexible stocking and field color swaps. IMC-Direct confirms laser engraving is available on lenses, valued in machine-building. Tradesparky (UK) explicitly clarifies: "complete with yellow flush lens" but no LED. No quality complaints surfaced.

3. Real-World Applications

Described as heavy-duty industrial pilot light for control panels, machine tools, and operator interface stations. SmartWire-DT compatible (smart wiring topologies). IP69K suits wash-down environments (food & beverage, chemical). Lloyd's Register certified for marine use. Sold globally: Indonesia (~Rp. 145,000 complete unit), Mexico (~MXN 82 lens), Brazil (R$45.99), Poland (18.51 PLN).

6. Known Issues

Eaton's database flags catalog 216774 as "SUSPICIOUS" in serial validation (eaton.com/de), indicating counterfeits in circulation — buy from authorized distributors. Lens-only nature causes ordering confusion; buyers sometimes expect a complete ready-to-wire indicator. The M22-L-Y-230W complete unit is flagged discontinued/EOL at some distributors (OnlineComponents); the base M22-L-Y lens itself remains active.
