Pushbutton Switches Push Button 10A SPST-DB, SPDT-DB
Research Notes
1. What this is
P8-V321213 is an OTTO P8-series compact sealed momentary pushbutton — shortened back-panel depth with the same features as the regular P1/P3.
2. Part-number decode
- Series: OTTO P8
- Action: Momentary
- Configuration code: the digits after the dash (e.g. the
V321213group) encode the exact actuator, contact arrangement, termination, and cap/color per OTTO's datasheet — not derivable from the part number alone
3. Compatibility & ordering
OTTO switches are rugged, sealed electromechanical pushbuttons for commercial, military, and aerospace use. Match by series (size/style — P1 full-size, P3 regular, P8 compact, P9 dome, P7 subminiature, P5 alternate-action), action (momentary vs latching), and illumination, then use OTTO's datasheet to confirm the exact contact/terminal/cap configuration encoded in the numeric part of the code.
4. Data-quality note
The OTTO series and action type are decoded from the part number (grounded in OTTO's product bulletins and distributor listings). The exact electrical configuration in the numeric code — contact arrangement (NO/NC), terminal type, and cap/color — is OTTO-catalog-specific and is not asserted here; confirm it against OTTO's datasheet or 'build-a-part' for a precise order. Flagged decoded-partial rather than guessed.

Referência rápida de instalação
Panel cutout: 22mm. Insert from the front of the panel, secure with mounting nut from behind (tighten to 2-3 Nm).
Contact block: Snap or screw the contact block onto the rear of the button body. Ensure the contact block orientation matches the wiring diagram — NO terminals are usually marked.
Wiring: Use 0.5-2.5mm² stranded wire with ferrules. Tighten screw terminals to 0.8 Nm. Test the button function before energizing the circuit.

Solução de problemas
Button doesn't respond when pressed
Check the contact block first — it's the most common failure point. Test continuity across the NO or NC terminals with a multimeter. If no click is felt, the return spring in the head may be broken.
Works intermittently
Contact block contacts are pitted or burned. Replace the contact block — don't try to file the contacts. Check if the rated cycle count has been exceeded.
Button feels mushy or doesn't click
The spring return mechanism in the button head is worn. Replace the head. The contact block can usually be reused if it tests OK.
