M22-D-B

1. Overview

The M22-D-B is a non-illuminated momentary flush pushbutton actuator from Eaton's RMQ-Titan M22 series, previously branded Moeller Electric. It is a front-panel actuator only: "D" = flush/flat style, "B" = blue. To form a functional switch it must be combined with a contact block (M22-K10 for 1NO, M22-K01 for 1NC) and M22-A mounting adapter. Catalog number 216600; alternate designation M22-D-BQ. EAN 4015082166007.

2. User Sentiment

No direct forum reviews were found. The M22 series is broadly described across industrial distributors as reliable and heavy-duty for harsh machine environments. One Farnell Germany listing describes the M22-D-B+M22-A as having a "black" button plate — a minor data discrepancy, likely a listing error; all major sources (Eaton, DigiKey, TME, RS, Newark) consistently confirm blue. The product is stocked on every continent, indicating steady global demand. Czech and German listings note it as a staple item with reliable availability.

3. Real-World Applications

The M22-D-B is used in machine control panels, automation cabinets, and process equipment across manufacturing, food & beverage, marine, and heavy industry. Czech procurement documents (hospital elevator installations) specify M22-D-B + M22-A + M22-K10, confirming use in regulated/critical systems. Eaton markets the M22 line for "global machine control applications." Brazilian and Southeast Asian automation suppliers list it for PLC/CLP control panels.

5. Ordering & Compatibility

Pricing: ~$7–$12.50 USD (DigiKey $12.50/1, $9.03/100; KentStore $7.10–$9.38), €4.59–€9.18 EUR (Horizont DE), R$45 BRL, ~130 CZK, PLN 44.89. The actuator is sold separately from contact blocks — complete device requires M22-K10 (1NO) or M22-K01 (1NC) and M22-A mounting adapter. Common combos: M22-D-B-K10 (actuator + 1NO, $26.73 at DigiKey), M22-D-B-K10-BVP (complete device, cat. 132621), M22-D-B/-A/-K10 set (Automation24). M22 flush series color variants: M22-D-G (green), M22-D-R (red), M22-D-Y (yellow), M22-D-W (white), M22-D-S (black). Lens is field-removable and color-interchangeable.

6. Known Issues

No significant failure reports or quality complaints were identified in the surveyed sources. One minor data-quality note: a handful of sources (Farnell Germany, one Chinese retailer) describe the button color as "black" rather than blue, likely reflecting a catalog data error or confusion with the M22-D-S (black) variant. The "B" suffix in Eaton's naming convention consistently means blue across all major sources including Eaton's own pages, DigiKey, TME, RS, Newark, and Automation24. Ensure the correct contact block type (NO vs. NC) is ordered separately, as the actuator alone is not a functional switch.
